Mushroom Cultivation by the School of Agriculture

The School of Agriculture, Nirwan University Jaipur hosted a workshop on Mushroom Cultivation methods for B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B. Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management and M. Sc. (Ag.) Agronomy students on the 13th of January 2023. The mushrooms are multicellular, fleshy fungi that produce spores and are known to offer a variety of dietary and therapeutic uses in addition to being a strong source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, etc. have also been extensively cultivated and sold by farmers. Mushroom cultivation is an economically feasible biotechnological process for the conversion of various lignocellulosic wastes. In this workshop, the students gained practical experience and learned how to grow mushrooms in controlled environments.
