Purpose

To ensure that the mechanism for registering complaints is safe, accessible and sensitive. To take cognizance of complaints about sexual harassment, conduct enquiries, provide assistance and redressal to the victims, recommend penalties and take action against the harasser, if necessary.

Functions

To facilitate a safe environment that is free of harassment; To promote behaviors that create an atmosphere that ensures gender equality and equal opportunities.

Structure

In pursuance of UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015 read with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and in partial modification by UGC, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted in the University which comprises of the following members:

Purpose

To listen, record and scrutinize the grievances submitted to them by the Students and take necessary steps immediately. To attend to the grievances based on the authenticity and gravity of the criticisms made.

Functioning

The cases are attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students. The Committee formally meets to review all cases, prepares a statistical reports about the number of cases received, attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the university and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

A committee for SC/ST as per the Scheduled Castes and The Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989 is being constituted to create and maintain safe, healthy and supportive environment for SC/ST staff and students in the campus.
