BLIS imparts technical knowledge, understanding of different aspects of Library and Information Science, the concept of library and librarianship understanding and the basic principles and laws of library science with advanced technology-based services.

The BLIS Programme aims to develop the understanding and competencies required by librarians and library professionals for effective librarianship at the basic and higher level. This programme prepares library professionals to understand the technical and basic work in libraries and to provide the best LIS services to society.

Also to learn the various methodologies and technologies of librarianship, the course structure combined with theoretical and rigorous practice Library and Information Science which prepares librarians or library professional trainees to become the skilled LIS professional and the ability to deal with students/ users to provide library and information services in the society.
